2007-08 Honorary Service Awards
Thousand Oaks High School PTSA

Each year, PTAs across the nation pay tribute to individuals who have distinguished themselves in volunteer service to public schools and the students they educate.  At the PTA Unit/School level, we recognize individuals whose commitment to children and schools extends not only across our campus, but often beyond the school site to impact the larger community.  At TOHS, our PTSA will honor these individuals at our final gathering in June.   Award categories are as follows:

Honorary Service Award (HSA)
This very distinguished honor recognizes a significant and continuing level of school service by volunteer.

Continuing Service Award (CSA)
This award typically honors a past recipient of an HSA whose service has continued to benefit the wider community of schools and children and deserves renewed recognition.

 Very Special Person Award (VSP)
This award honors individuals who have done outstanding work in a particular area or on a specific school-serving project.  It may recognize the PTA job they have performed, but also commends their service above and beyond the single job responsibility.

 Golden Oak Award (GOA)
This award represents the highest level of service recognition by the California State PTA.  Rarely is it presented at the unit or council level because it is designated for individuals whose efforts demonstrate uncommon service beyond the school site.

The Thousand Oaks High School PTSA is accepting nominations for its 2007-08 service award recognition program. We invite PTSA members, school staff and teachers, and district employees to consider eligible candidates and submit nominations (confidentially).  The reverse side of this page is for nomination information.  Please attach additional materials as needed.  Deadline for 2007-08 nominations is Friday, March 14, 2008.  Submit nominations (confidentially, please) to:

Sue Wells, TOHS PTSA, 2323 N. Moorpark Rd., T.O. 91360
You may also submit nominations via email to Sue at:  Us4Wells@roadrunner.com
